About the tour
The Vatican City Tour starts with a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, an awe-inspiring collection of art collected over the centuries at the behest of the Popes.
The tour continues through the museum's galleries all leading to the Sistine Chapel and Michelangelo's great masterpieces painted on the ceiling and the altar wall.
The last stop is St. Peter’s Basilica where you will see the tomb of Saint Peter, the stone on which the first basilica was built in 326, and Bernini’s colonnade. Just inside the Porta Santa (Holy Door), you will also see the famous Pietà, sculpted by Michelangelo when he was just 25 years old. the masterpiece by a young Michelangelo.
