Fall in South Italy

October 8-15, 2022

Come to Cilento to participate in the olive harvest, and to immerse yourself in the beauty of October in South Italy.

This special tour is timed with the ripening of the olives at Borgo La Pietraia.

Italy without the crowds

"Fall in South Italy" is a week-long retreat timed with the olive harvest. Your stay at Borgo La Pietraia is the stage for a total immersion into the rhythms of the ancient world when grapes are transformed into wine and olive is pressed into oil. Each day is another dream of the simple Italian life -- a picnic under the olive trees, a passeggiata through the medieval streets of Salerno, and exploring ancient Paestum, where you can walk directly atop 3,000-year-old temples.

If you've been wanting to travel this year but have been dissuaded by the many problems of travel in 2022, "Fall In South Italy" is the answer. Your hosts will manage all the details in what is already a serene landscape where over-tourism is rejected in favor of person-to-person exchange. This week in Italy is designed to help you appreciate all your senses.

Borgo La Pietraia is in Cilento, overlooking the Amalfi Coast and Capri. If you would like to visit Rome, Naples, or the Amalfi Coast before or after your trip, let us know and we'll be happy to help make your arrangements.

FAQ

Where does the trip begin and end?

The tour starts and ends at Napoli Centrale -- the main train station in Naples. We'll pick you up at noon on the first day of the tour, and drop you off at noon on the last day.

Where should I fly in?

We recommend arriving in Italy the day before. The fast train (Frecciarossa) goes to Napoli Centrale and is a 1 hour and 5-minute ride away from Rome. There is also an airport in Naples. If you would like to stay in Naples for a night, we recommend the NH Panorama, or Hotel Piazza Bellini

Will there be downtime? What if I need to work?

The Borgo has WiFi and there will be time to relax on the property. If you need extra space to do some work or take phone calls, let us know and we'll help get you set up.
