Go on the trip of a lifetime in with the very special tour which highlights many of the most luxurious places in South Italy. The tour starts in Naples then travels to the mountains of Irpinia for wine tasting, to the Cilento Coast, and concludes in Matera.
This tour mixes 5 star hotels and Michelin starred dining experiences with visits to places that would be inaccessible without local knowledge and special arrangements.

Itinerary
October 10-21, 2022
There's an abundance of luxury in South Italy matched only by its bounty of cultural treasures. The Grand Tour pairs world class accommodations and food and wine experiences with many of Italy's most fascinating cultural sites including Pompeii, the Royal Palace, of Caserta, the temples at Paestum and the caves of Matera.
Day 1: Benvenuti al Sud
The tour begins at midday in Naples. We'll enjoy a sunset stroll along the Lungomare to get oriented with the city, then have dinner at Michelin starred Aria.
Day 2: Naples Centro Storico & Food Tour
The walking tour of the 2500 year old city center includes the Piazza del Gesù, the Cloister of Santa Chiara, the famous Veiled Christ, the Greek and Roman Underground city, Via San Gregorio Armeno where the creche artisans have their workshops, and the Caravaggio paintings at the Pio Monte.
Along the way we'll sample the most traditional bites of the city including fried pizza, a frittatina of pasta, and sfogliatelle.
Day 4: Royal Palace at Caserta
Say farewell to Naples as we transfer to the mountains or Irpinia. Along the way we'll stop at the Royal Palace at Caserta. Once home to the Bourbon dynasty, it is the largest palace in the world.
In the afternoon relax at the Radici Resort by Mastroberardino with a spa treatment or a hike in the vineyard. Dinner is at the resort.
Day 5: Wine Tour
Taurasi is called the Barolo of the South and you'll experience how this lush, fertile countryside at a high elevation produces so many high value wines.
Day 6: Cilento & Sunset Tour of the Paestum Temples
After breakfast we'll transfer to the Cilento Coast and the beautiful gated property called Borgo La Pietraia. At sunset we'll have a private guided tour of the 3,000 old temples at Paestum.
Day 7: Tenuta Vannulo & Santomiele
The day begins at Tenuta Vannulo, Italy's most celebrated producer of buffalo mozzarella. Then we'll travel inland to the Cilento National Park for a tour and lunch at Santomiele, a luxury producer of figs and chocolate.
Day 8: Spa Day & Tre Olivi
Enjoy a free day with an optional visit to a spa complex on the sea. Dinner is Tre Olivi which recently earned its second Michelin star.
Day 9: Matera
We'll leave in the late morning to drive to Matera, then check-in to a diffused hotel in the sassi or caves of Matera.
Day 10: Exploring the caves of Matera
Our guide will spend the day with us showing us the sites of Matera including the two districts of sassi and the Rupestrian churches carved into the rock.
Our farewell dinner will be a feast of Materan classic dishes in one of the city's coziest restaurants.
Day 11: Arrivederci
Transfer back to Naples

The tour begins and ends in Naples. Please plan to arrive in Naples on October 10 at 2pm.
The tour ends on October 21th after breakfast. Our private coach will depart for Naples (about a 3.5 hour drive) at 10am.
$500 reservation fee to secure your seat (non-refundable). (We will send you an invoice after we receive your reservation request.)
